London four piece Cross Wires make mod-ed up punk tracks that get you moving, that get you angry and could get you very, very sweaty. What more would you want from a band? ‘Interaction : Dislocation’, their new EP, serves you all of this on a short-tracked buffet, it delivers 4 fast and furious tracks that you can really let go to. EP opener ‘Walking Wounded’ is a constricted track that sounds more day dreamy than anything else. But, despite this, that beat is enough to get anyone at the very least tapping their feet.
‘Last Days of Rome’ begins with insane perfection, it is so perfect that if you don’t like those opening angsty riffs I definitely think that you must be listening to the wrong song. The change of tone for the chorus really hone’s in the songs meaning, matching perfectly with the lyrics (“This shithouse will go up in flames / Everything sounds the same”). ‘Progress’ and ‘Flesh’ continue delivering those relentless riffs and beat, adding to the killer punk edge the band holds in their merciless hands.
