September means only one thing here at Mytacism Music, it’s time for Worcester Music Festival. WMF is a weekend of music in the center of Worcester (obviously) from the 18th till the 20th. But it’s better than being just that, volunteers spend the weekend collecting money for charity (this year for Worcestershire Rape & Sexual Abuse Support Centre) and no matter what venue/artist you go to, you won’t be forced to hand over any currency. So, while we wait for that weekend to approach, what better way to deal with our excitement than to go through every act on the line up and find the very best for you to go and see. Today we got chatting to Bren Haze ahead of his performance.
WHO: Bren Haze | WHERE: The Pheasant | WHEN: Sun 20th @ 4pm
How are you feeling about Worcester Music Festival? Are you excited?
Very excited to be playing the WMF this year, it’s a great community of artists and also for a great cause.
How would you like to introduce yourself to new fans?
I’m Bren, back in the UK! I perform a blend of original Acoustic/Rock songs live using two guitars 🙂
Have you played at other festivals before? How was your experience?
Yes, I’ve been lucky to have played this year;
Livestock, LakeFest, BBC CarFest (Chris Evans Children In Need- Basingstoke, B:Fest Tenbury, BeeFest Hereford, Sound Of The Shire Festival, NestFest, SavFest in Corby!
And these festivals to come: Hereford Festival of Sport, OxJam
What was your first live performance like? How has your act developed since then?
Ooow well I did my first proper Bren Haze solo gig last year mid 2014 with this new set-up, since then I’ve recorded my 2nd album which I am mainly playing in my new set.
How has your local music scene affected the way you play live?
I’ve been very lucky to have the support of the local BBC, Hereford Live and given my music is just as much intricate acoustic as it is rock solo’s.
Each venue I’ve managed to get a slot to play 😉 I’ve been well received and asked back to do a full gig.
Have you got any tricks up your sleeve for your performance?
There’s a few songs from the new album that I am back and forth between guitars that I am excited to play live.
Are there any other acts you are looking forward to seeing or any that you’d recommend?
Vault Of Eagles I really want to see, my friends Quarter Stone, there’s way too many good acts on this year.
And finally, do you have any tales of the road you’d like to share with us?
Haha of course 😉 but my lips are sealed 🙂 I am on the Kate Justice show next month talking about my news so many share something then 😉
